The RNG9-G-M-40.5 Solid-sealed Indoor HV Vacuum Circuit Breaker is a new generation of 40.5 series vacuum circuit breaker independently developed by our RENLE Europe GmbH Company. As a main feature, it main conducting loop is installed inside a full enclosed three-phase insulation cylinder within a layered arrangement of an operating device and a main conducting loop. The operating device is a new typed spring operation mechanism, a reliable and simple device independently developed by our company.
The RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker is in full compliance with standards of GB1984, GB/T11022 and Chinese Power Industry DL403 in regards to all kinds of parameters, and standards of IEC62271-100, IEC56 and other major industrialized countries.
The RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker has passed following tests to make sure about its safe operation. Type test: tests in power frequency withstand voltage, lightning impact surface pressure resistance, withstand current in temperature rise, short time and peak value, short circuit current breaking capacity and mechanical life. Routine tests before factory: test of mechanical property, power frequency withstand voltage in main loop, test of insulation performance in auxiliary and control loops, resistance test of main loop, interlocking operation trial and tests in mechanical and electrical operations.

1. An overall layout structure of circuit breaker
An integrated design of structure is adopted between the spring operating device and circuit breaker itself. The primary main conducting loop is arranged in layers onto the device. The upper part of the circuit breaker is taken by the main conducting loop and lower part by spring operating device and handcart propulsion device. The two parts are compact in structure and reasonable in layout.
2. Better handcart inter-convertibility and adaptability
The RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker can realize an easy change between handcarts for wider applications. The RNG9-G-M-40.5 series vacuum circuit breaker is design with a structure of floor stand, thus it is easy for user’s onsite checks and regular maintenance without a transfer car. 3. Integrated spring operating mechanism of reliability
A spring operating device is arranged in the RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker, designed with manual and electric energy storage functions. The operating device is placed in the upper side in front of a quenching pot, which not only downsizes the overall machine dimension, but also improves the operational performances of a operating device and an arc extinguish chamber, eliminates the unnecessary link of drive, lowers its energy consumption and noises, and ensures a more reliable operational performance.
The main drive structure in the operating device of the RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker is an extension of a mature 12kV VBI series operating device. The main drive has a reliable experience in production and operations of thousands of machines. The whole machine of a circuit breaker is reliable and stable in its operations.
4. A cylinder or enclosed structure of Insulation in main conducting loop
The main conducting loop of the RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker has two insulation structures of cylinder and enclosed type, which is convenient for user’s needs in different places.
An insulated structure of cylinder type: the vacuum quenching pot with a main conducting loop of a circuit breaker is placed inside an enclosed insulated tube. The insulation tube uses an epoxide resinous material of reliable electromechanical properties, and formed into shape by adopting an APG technique. The insulation tube can be used in installation and support, also for an indirect insulation purpose. The design of above insulation tube gives a full consideration of the national standards, harsh working conditions, usage requirements. It not only prevents the vacuum quenching pot from outside influence, but also stops dusts and foreign matters from entering it part of main conducting loop. It can also make sure high resistance against a voltage effect even in a hot and damp environment with heavy pollutions.
An insulated structure of enclosed type: The primary conducting loop of a circuit breaker adopts a solid-sealed polar pole treated with automatic pressure APG I technique to seal the vacuum quenching pot and other parts of a conducting circuit directly into a special epoxy resin material, forming a module of main conducting loop. A double skirt design inside and outside is adopted at the installation end of a solid-sealed polar pole. The polar pole has features of a large creepage distance, a high mechanical strength, a high precision and a small amount of spare parts with no needs of secondary adjusting, and few lap surfaces. The electric field of a polar pole is evenly distributed to avoid the damages in an organic insulation from a concentrated field of parts. Meanwhile, the assembly technique of a primary conducting loop can be significantly simplified by adopting the above structure, which completely avoids a loose connecting bolt of primary conducting loop due to operational vibration, ensures a high reliability in electrical connection of main conducting loop, and makes possible the primary conducting loop of a circuit breaker free from maintenance.
5. Flexible Way of Installation solid insulation technique.
The RNG9-G-M-40.5 series indoor HV vacuum circuit breaker has two ways of installation: fixed and handcart. Both ways can easily realize a reliable and mechanical Interlocking and Five Protections. It can be directly installed inside all kinds of stationary switch cabinet, and can be equipped in handcart onto all kinds of movable switch cabinets.
